The 2025 BMX season is off to an exciting and powerful start for Vapor Trails Racing (VTR)!
We had a fantastic first week of racing for this season, and you can read all about it in our previous post: A Big Saturday for VTR Riders at Trilogy and Core Creek BMX Events.
Now we continue kicking things off. On May 10, at Hunterdon County BMX for their season opener, the energy was high from the very first gate drop. With a total of 37 motos and sunshine overhead, it was a perfect day to race.

We had four VTR riders on the track that day:
Brittney and Vanessa went head-to-head in the Cruiser class, showing great sportsmanship and team spirit. Brittney secured 2nd place, while Vanessa followed close behind in 3rd.
Sophia continued to show improvement and determination in every lap, earning a solid 3rd-place finish.
Matt faced a tough lineup, battling it out with the older riders in his class, and still pulled through with a hard-fought 3rd place.
Meanwhile, over at Trilogy Bike Park, our newest team member, Joey Johnson, made an impressive debut, earning 2nd place in his class during his very first race with VTR! Joey is only 10 years old and already proving he's a force to be reckoned with.
Then on May 18, VTR was proud to sponsor Opening Day at Revolution Bike Park, supporting the BMX community with Money Open races for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, Holeshot awards, and Mystery Motos.

The highlight of the day? Joey Johnson absolutely crushed it again—this time taking 1st place in the 12 & Under Money Open, snagging a $50 prize and the Holeshot win! He also raced in the 10-Intermediate class for the first time and came out on top with another 1st place finish. Way to go, Joey—we are incredibly proud of your dedication and performance!
Also on May 18, back at Trilogy Bike Park, Paul and Joey C hit the track (and for once, didn’t have to race each other!). Paul earned 3rd place in both class and cruiser, while Joey C claimed 2nd in his class, rounding out another solid day of racing for the team.

Since then, Mother Nature hasn’t been as cooperative. Rain unfortunately canceled several race weekends, putting a temporary hold on the action. But that hasn’t dampened our spirits.
We’re now gearing up for our first big weekend with both a Gold Cup Qualifier and a State Qualifier at Westmoreland BMX, happening June 7–8. Expect to see a strong VTR presence out there, and we’ll be bringing all the energy, focus, and fire!
Stay tuned—we’ll have updates and results to share after the weekend. Go VTR! 💥💨🏁
